KOMPAS.com - YouTube diam-diam merilis fitur baru bernama Stable Volume untuk aplikasi di iOS dan Android. Seperti namanya, fitur Stable Volume berguna untuk menyeimbangkan audio saat pengguna menonton sebuah video.
Fitur ini dirilis agar pengguna tidak mendapatkan lonjakan volume secara tiba-tiba. Ini biasanya terjadi ketika pengguna membuka video lain dengan tingkat volume yang berbeda.
Stable Volume nantinya akan secara otomatis mengatur tingkat suara video untuk mencegah lonjakan volume yang dapat mengganggu. Saat audio terlalu keras atau terlalu pelan, fitur ini akan dapat menyesuaikan volume agar suara yang dikeluarkan lebih halus dan seimbang.
Kehadiran fitur Stable Volume awalnya diketahui oleh seorang pengguna forum Reddit dengan handle @OwenTheHugger.
Ia menemukan tombol "Stable Volume" yang terletak di menu pengaturan video yang ditonton, tepatnya di bawah "Ambient mode" dan di atas "Report".
Reddit Fitur baru YouTube bernama Stable VolumeNamun karena tidak mengetahui kegunaannya, ia menanyakan pengguna Reddit yang lainnya. Pengguna Reddit pun menjawab bahwa fitur ini kemungkinan berhubungan dengan kecerdasan buatan (AI) atau normalisasi audio.
Kemudian, Brandon Lee, blogger dari situs This is Tech Today juga menemukan fitur yang sama. Lee berasumsi bahwa fitur ini digunakan untuk menstabilkan volume di audio.

I’m not entirely sure what it is, but I think it may be a normalizer and compressor that evens out the volume so you don’t have big jumps in volume between videos and even parts of a video itself.

"Saya tidak sepenuhnya yakin, tetapi menurut saya, fitur Stable Volume merupakan kompresor yang meratakan volume sehingga tidak mengalami lompatan besar antara video yang berbeda, dan antara bagian-bagian dalam sebuah video," kata Lee.
YouTube menjelaskan
Pihak YouTube pun mengonfirmasi kehadiran fitur Stable Volume dan fungsinya pada 18 Juli. Mereka juga mengatakan bahwa fitur ini masih dalam tahap uji coba secara global di perangkat mobile.
"Kami sedang menguji fitur kontrol audio yang baru di YouTube. Fitur ini mampu menghasilkan audio yang lebih konsisten bagi pengguna saat menonton video," kata juru bicara YouTube, sebagaimana dikutip KompasTekno dari TechCrunch, Rabu (19/7/2023).
"Eksperimen ini bersifat global dan tersedia di perangkat mobile," imbuh pihak YouTube.
Karena masih dalam tahap eksperimen, fitur ini masih belum tersedia untuk semua pengguna. Pihak YouTube pun tidak mengumbar tanggal perilisan fitur ini secara menyeluruh.
Pantauan KompasTekno, fitur Stable Volume belum ada di ponsel Android kami, dengan aplikasi YouTube versi 18.27.33 alias terbaru.
